Client: Cakes in a Box, Cakes & Baked Goods
Location: Vancouver, BC
Cakes in a Box is a new baked goods start-up in Vancouver. The owner and self-taught baker, Joyce Ng, is a trendy, feminine and imaginative individual. We wanted to ensure her unique personality and talent was reflected, with the additional support of her deliciously fun photography. The challenge was to design the logo without being as literal as the name.
As a simple hand-illustrated word-mark, the new logo caters to being soft, tasty and meaningful; inspired by her sweet products and current lettering design trends. The subtle dimensionality gives the logo a playful boost and can easily translate to one colour.

A feminine and strong new logo, brand identity for Precision Body Training. The design combines the focus on strength, and loving oneself.
Women not only want to see results, they want to feel a difference too. The bicep curl captures the shape of a heart — a symbol for happiness and acceptance of self.

What The Pack?
Hushh Stewards Soapery is a soap packaging project featuring five mythical goddesses who claim their own sacred steward to conceal private love lives, fortunes, and tragedies. A bar of soap is offered as a cleansing solution to freshen up of any burden, while paired with a key as a symbolic take-away.
It captures the essence of indulging in a quiet bath or a glass of wine with your closest, and trusted, caretaker. The goal is to bring each individual package to life and with substance; fulfilling on many levels. Each box is illustrated after iconic owls who are historically paired with their deity.

Personal Identity & Monogram Challenge
I sketched a variety of R's (on average, showing one a week) as a personal challenge which ended becoming more of a personal exploration. I digitalized my favourite during the process.
Why R? It's is one of my least favourite letters and it helps me re-discover different sides of my personality and my skills.
Experimental Lettering / Typography
3-dimensional alphabet made from card-stock and peeled yew tree bark.
Most of a yew tree's parts are highly poisonous. However, it contains a chemical substance to help cure prostate cancer by slowly cutting down the size of cancer cells.

A re-brand for Falcon Auto Clinic. Created a new logo and identity, which includes stationery, build and manage their new website, iconography, exterior signage, brand merchandise and professional hired photography.

Stemmed from the haunting history of Old Montreal in Quebec, Canada. Although known for it’s historical significance, authentic architecture, nightlife and music, Old Montreal offers young urban professionals a gothic and tasteful neighbourhood of infamous documented deaths and crimes.

Client: Gallaghers Coffee Bar & Cafe
Location: Port Moody, BC
A popular local coffee bar since 1992. They are recognized for their quality products and outstanding customer service.
Finding a fresh and traditional compilation, appealing to both the cafe's young and older demographic. Communities are becoming more serious about supporting small and local businesses. Gallaghers needed guidance in creating a cohesive identity to facilitate the projected growth of the company, from a local phenomenon to a widely recognized brand in their community.

A captivating multi-dimensional 3-part red wine taster. Made from using grape varietals, expressing three famous New York expressionists disarray of personal flavors and creative flair during, and after, the second World War: Jackson Pollock, Franz Kline and Clyfford Still.
Each expresses its own artist’s personality and their own emotional artistic flair — as abstract expressionism is used to assert personal thoughts and feelings with passionate attitude and edge as therapeutic release.
Book Jackets / Packaging
A book packaging project, featuring three award-winning novels of Jeffrey Eugenides — The Virgin Suicides, Middlesex and The Marriage Plot. He is an American novelist, said to be reluctant to appear in public or disclose details about his private life —relevant for the concept development inspired for both the series and the premise of his stories.
The three novel covers were made to be the inside pages of a traditional, but very personalized, diary book of each featured character.
A leather dairy case enclose the pages of each book.

A conceptual tour brochure for G Adventures Egyptian Tours.
Decipher the truth under wraps, inspired by the history on ancient pyramids tombs and royal pharaohs.
Each spread conceals an important figure and factual information inside the tomb. The inside of the flap includes a question translated into hieroglyphics. As a promotional piece, the audience decodes the messages and must find the right answers to enter and receive a discount on their trip.

Temporary Distortion is a very unconventional, yet wildly popular theatre performance based in New York City since 2002. All of their performances transpire in a tight enclosed glass case. Each show is visually rich of intense emotional productions with minimal movement, including vigorous audio and meditative video of narrative coherence and dreamlike stage presentation.
The brochures came from the company’s unusual and passionate performances. It was important for this feature to be empathized since the unique quality of their theatre compared to some traditional forms of acting.
